Looking Back at the 2025 Conference

The 8th edition of the conference centered around the theme: “Building Resilience Today,” focused on strategic corporate responses to shifting market conditions, climate challenges, and rising customer expectations in the context of how to build resilient, innovative, and sustainable business models. The conference delivered answers through concrete tools, best practices, and inspiring success stories.

The program featured insightful keynotes, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops. We explored the circular economy — from product design to recycling — and shared valuable lessons learned from highly successful initiatives as well as from projects that faced unexpected challenges.

Janez Potočnik

Co-Chair of the UNEP Environment International Resource Panel, ex-Commisioner of the European Commision

Dr Janez Potočnik is an economist graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He served as Director of the Institute of Macroeconomic Analysis and Development in Ljubljana. He was appointed Head of Negotiating Team for Accession of Slovenia to the EU and served as Minister responsible for European Affairs. In 2004 he joined the European Commission as Commissioner responsible for Science and Research. In 2010 he became Commissioner for Environment. After the mandate he was appointed as a Co-Chair
of UNEP Environment International Resource Panel. He is also Partner at SYSTEMIQ and one of the founders of the Systems Transformation Hub.

Andreas Dick

Member of the Board, Production & Logistics at Škoda Auto

Andreas Dick is member of the Board of Management for Production and Logistics at Škoda Auto since September 2023 and an experienced automotive executive with international management experience. With over 25 years of experience across Mexico, China, and Germany, Dick has led transformative projects, including digital advancements and the rollout of electric vehicles, managing the production of up to 1.8 million vehicles annually. As Škoda Auto’s Sustainability Representative, he drives initiatives in electromobility, digitalization, and sustainable manufacturing on a global scale. Together with his teams, Andreas Dick is committed to steering the company through its transformation towards a more sustainable future. One example is the commitment to a CO₂-neutral production in the Czech Republic and India, to be achieved by 2030. As of now, the plant in Vrchlabí is already CO₂-neutral.

Violeta Luca

CEO & Chairwoman Vodafone Czech Republic

Violeta Luca has been in charge of Czech Vodafone since January 2024. Before that, she was the CEO of Microsoft Czech Republic and Slovakia. And before that, she was the CEO of Microsoft in Romania. Violeta Luca has managed transformation projects in retail, banking, e-commerce, healthcare and telecommunications. She has long focused on the development of digital skills, innovation and support for start-ups; she also provides active mentoring to empower women in their professional and management careers. She has received numerous awards and was recognised by Forbes as one of the 20 most influential women in Fintech in the CR and one of the TOP CEOs in 2023. In the Manager of the Year 2022 competition, she won in the Foreign Manager category. Before joining Microsoft, she worked at companies such as Metro Cash & Carry, Dante International, Flanco Retail, Whirlpool and AIG. She graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, Romania.

Jan Jonker

Emeritus Professor of Sustainable and Circular Business at Radboud University in Nijmegen (NL)

Jan Jonker is Professor Emeritus of Sustainable and Circular Business at Radboud University in Nijmegen (NL). He was appointed to this teaching position for life in 2015. He is known as an activist professor who wants to stimulate social change through a practical approach. He does this from an organizational perspective translated into business models. For him, the core of transition is learning to organize differently around changing forms of collective value creation. He has 35 books and more than 250 publications to his credit. He is currently working on his 36th book on transition and value creation.

Eva Nedeľková has been working at Lindström Group since 2022 and currently holds several consulting positions focused on sustainability and ESG. Eva has extensive experience in business model innovation in various industries, including leading digital transformation at Dutch bank ABN AMRO. As a co-founder of KnowESG, she is working to democratize access to ESG data. The KnowESG Marketplace supports companies in reducing emissions and improving ESG reporting.

Jacco is an experienced innovation manager and advisor with more than 10 years of experience in the field of circular economy, with a specialty in circular economy performance metrics, ESG reporting and innovation management. He has been advisor to the GRI, CTI and ISO norms on circular economy and is currently supporting the development of the Global Circularity Protocol. Jacco was trained as a chemist and sustainability expert in the Netherlands and Japan

Kateřina Barbier is an experienced manager with rich international experience and a deep understanding of the diversity of markets and the development of human potential. In her role, she focuses on innovation and supports sustainable business, reflecting her belief that true sustainability begins with concrete actions and active education of those around her. She has been with HP since 2005 – with a one-year break when she led the French multinational Legrand in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Less than a year ago, she took over the management of HP for the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.

Alessandro Pasquale took over the management of Mattoni 1873 in 2007. Under his leadership, the company became the number one in the Central European region. Mattoni 1873 operates 11 factories in 8 countries in Central and Southern Europe, bottling local spring and natural mineral waters and producing global beverage brands. Mr. Pasquale has a long-standing passion for the sustainability of the entire European beverage industry. As the newly elected President of NMWE (Natural Mineral Waters Europe), he promotes the principles of the circular economy both at the level of individual countries and within the EU.

Martin Hausenblas

Member of the Supervisory Board of Malfini; co-founder of Liftago

Martin Hausenblas is a patriot from Ústí nad Labem, an entrepreneur, philanthropist, former municipal politician, visionary and innovator. In 2000, he founded the company ADLER Czech, today Malfini, a manufacturer and exporter of advertising textiles, which since 2010 has focused on the sustainability of the entire process, including waste minimization. He is the founder of Liftago, which aims to help develop autonomous vehicles and reduce emissions from urban transport. Martin’s vision is the Czech Republic as a transport, energy and data crossroads of Europe – which is why he also co-founded the Puls Institute and supports the construction of high-speed lines.
